17 Jul. 2015 – Lea OBEID was the only Lebanese athlete to make the qualifications to the World Youth Championship that are now taking place in Cali, Colombia.
Yesterday she ran the 100 meters in 12.35 and was placed 6th in her heat. It is her 3rd best performance after 12.22 and 12.32. She was accompanied by one her coaches, Carine BITCHAKJIAN and her mother. We should note that both Elie SAADE and Carine BITCHAKJIAN are their coaches in Champville.
“On July 12th 2015, i left my homeland Lebanon and flew all the way to Cali,Colombia for the World Youth Championship. I knew that what was awaiting me was not just another competition or race, it was a very important event and part of my dreams. What made me mode nervous was the fact that i was racing beside thw girl who ranked 5th in the world. The runners around me were ones with impeccable records of 11 seconds , and that’s why i had to put an even greater effort. Eventhough i didn’t achieve a new pb , i gained some things bigger such as experience, friendship, and the desire to do better.” Said Lea.
