Ray BASSIL achieved 5th place in the World Shooting Championship!

15 Aug. 2015 – Ray BASSIL signed her name in the history book of shooting for being the first Lebanese and Arab woman to be ranked 5th in the World Shooting championship that was held in Gabala, Azerbaijan!

This very talented and dedicated woman is a role model in this sport in Lebanon! She scored 12 over 15 shots in the final to take 5th place, overcoming 70 other shooters from 64 different countries to be finally placed 5th! She also came out first of the World Championship qualifications setting a new Lebanese and Arab record of 74 over 75 shots!

Ray, who is now 26, started shooting at the age of 12 and was trained by her dad Jack BASSIL, who also used to play shooting and was one of the best volleyball player of all times in Lebanon.

Ray BASSIL is ranked 37 in the world and is considered the best shooter in Lebanon and in the middle east with her carrier full of great achievements! She won bronze medal at the 2007 World Championship that took place in Cyprus, she also won silver in the Asian Championship in 2009 and took fourth place in the Asian Championship in Doha in back in 2012. She aslo won the Arab Championship many times!

This is a great achievement for the Arab women in sports and for the Lebanese shooting! A well deserved respect! Congratulation!
