09 March. 2016 – The Lebanese under 14 tennis national team ended up 4th at the ITF World Juniors Championship, after a 2-1 defeat against Iran!
Our national team, represent by Nour Dib, Myriam Massoud and Anna Maria Hayek, previously lost in the semi finals against Sri Lanka and then against Iran in the match for 3rd place. In that game, our girls won 1 singles match and lost the other, but also lost their doubles match in a super tie breaker (10-8).
Nevertheless, according to coach Baddreddine, the result was great as it was the first time a girls team from Lebanon participates in over 20 years! Moreover, it has been three year since Lebanon last placed in the top 4 among 8 countries at the tournament!
Also, the coach praised the Lebanese players who played their hearts out and fought for every point in extremely difficult weather conditions!
Well done girls, you made us all very proud!
