29 March. 2016 – The journey of the Lebanese football national team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup has come to a disappointing end, after a surprising 1-1 draw with Myanmar at home. Previously, Lebanon defeated Myanmar 2-0 away from home in the first game, but the exhaustion from the game against South Korea was clearly present in our team today, as the players lacked the finishing!
Nevertheless, this result has secured a place for Lebanon at the Asian Qualifiers, from which 11 teams will directly qualify to Asia, in addition to the host country.
Improvement has surely been evident in the team’s performance and at this rate, the only obvious way is forward!
