03 Apr. 2016 – The Lebanese Triathlon delegation grabbed two silver medals and two bronze at the 5th Arab Triathlon Championship that is held in Charam El Cheikh, Egypt!
Lindzi NADER was able to take a silver medal in the Under 23 category in the Juniors triathlon that consisted on 750m of swimming, 20km of biking and 5km running! The young Lebanese was on her way to take a gold medal but she fell off her bike due to an accident but she picked up and continued her way to the finish line. We should note that Lindzi was the former Arab champion.
In the men’s 30-35 years category, Elias BAYDOUN was able to take a silver medal after swimming 400 meters, biking for 10km and running the 2.5km! Hanna BOU FARHAT came in third place in the same category as Elias to raise two Lebanese flags on the same podium!
On the other hand, Tala SALAM won a bronze medal in the Under 16 category which included a 400m swim, 10km bike and 2.5km run.
Moreover, Mohamad BAGHDADI came in 7th place in the men’s Under 23 category and Tracy KHAYAT came in 4th place in the women’s Under 23 Category!
The Lebanese triathletes got the support of the officials and the coaches of the delagation formed by the president of the Federation General Mahmoud DIB, the head of the delegation Ahmad KHALIFE, and the two coaches Kevork ATOUNIAN and Lotfallah MOUBARAK.
