28 Apr. 2016 – The Lebanese University is launching a series of competitions in different sports and in different faculties as well.
A basketball tournament will start in the faculty of Engineering in Roumieh, with a line up of 8 teams: Faculty of Law, Business, Engineering, Social Science, Media and Communication, Agriculture and Arts.
On the other hand, the faculty of Science in Amchit is organizing a cross country race on Friday 13th of May on the sea road boulevard. Moreover, a track and field championship will be held on the 11th of May starting at 4:00PM in Rafic Al Hariri sports city in Hadath. The championship includes Shot Put, Long Jump, 60m, 800m for women, and 100m, 1500m for men.
Furthermore, a Swimming test is being added to the schedule. The women’s events are scheduled on the 9th, 11th and 16th of May 2016, while the men’s events are scheduled on the 10th, 12th and 17th of May starting at 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The event will take place in the Olympic Swimming pool in Hadath.
“Sports for a better health” is one of the main topics supported by the Lebanese University. Therefore, the deen of the faculty of Medical Science, Boutros YARED, is organizing an event on Thursday, May 19, which will include the following sports: Tennis, Swimming, Mini Football, Chess, Tabel Tennis, Athletics.
Finally, the sports city in Saida will also host an event organized by the Lebanese University with the participation of the students of the Faculty of Techonology, starting at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 14,. The tournament will include a mini football game that will feature four teams of students and two teams formed by teachers and professors from the Faculty. A basketball game will also be held between the faculty of technology and the team of the second department.
