24 May 2016 – ATCL organized the 2nd Speed test event during the Beirut Cultural Festival last weekend. The race featured 46 drivers who were able to compete in front of a spectacular crowd!
In the super Series, Pierre RIZK won on his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 in 1:10.07 leaving behind him Xavier MASSAAD on Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 7 in second place with 1:10.94! Chady AKL on Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 7 clocked 1:11.04 to finish in third place.
In the women’s Super Series, Andrea MAARAOUI won on board of her BMW M3 in 1:28.34. She came 7 seconds after the third in the men’s Super series.
In the professional category, Paul KOSSAIFI finished first in 1:07.38 on his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9, Garo HAROUTIAN finished second in 1:07.86 on his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 7, and finally Carlos CHAMOUN finished in third place on his Mitsubishi Lance Evo 9 clocking 1:12.18.
Moreover, Georges FARES won the rear wheel drive race on his BMW 318 clocking 1:12.00 while Richard IBRAHIM, on his Renault Clio Williams, finished first in 1:13.02. In the RC2, Carlos SAHMOUN won in 1:12.18 on his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9. In the RC 4, Georges CHEDIAC won on board of his Pegot 206 RC in 1:20.91.
In the Amateur categories, Charbel MAKHLOUF won on board of his Golf GTI in 1:13.11, Charnel GHANEM came in second place with 1:14.10 on his Renault Clio RS, Chady BOU ASSI came in third place in 1:14.18 on his Pegot 205.
Charbel MAKHLOUF also won the L3 Category, Antoine SALEM won the L2 category and Ghana CHEBLI won the women’s category.
Renault Sport Cup podium came as follow: Charbel GHANEM in first place in 1:14.10, Daniel TARZIAN second in 1:15.62 and Nader AYYOUB third in 1:17.57.
