03 Jun. 2016 – The Lebanese Athletics team is now heading to Tunisia to take part in the second Mediterranean championship Under 23.
The team consists of Joy ABOUSLEIMAN (CSJ), competing in the Long Jump, Daniel BASSOUS (CSJ) competing in the 400m Hurdles, Sandy KARAM (Champville) competing in the 10,000 meters Race Walking and Krystel SANEH (Champville) in the 100m Hurdles.
Elie SAADE, the vice-president of the Lebanese Athletics Federation is the official and coach of the delegation.
Daniel BASSOUS, who is participating for the second time in the national team said: “I’m excited to be going to the U23 Mediterranean Championship with the Lebanese team. My aim during this trip is to run a good race with a good time, maybe under 55 seconds. But I also aim to benefit from the experience, have fun and meet new people while I’m there.”
The competition is scheduled on two days, Saturday and Sunday. Sandy and Daniel will compete on day 1, while Joy and Krystel will compete on day 2.
At the same time, in Vietnam, Sara Joe KORTBAWI will be competing in 1500mm and 800m at the 17th Asian Juniors Athletics Championship.
