Curry 3
11 Jun. 2016
– Just when we all began to doubt the toughness of one Stephen Curry, he shows up the next game to prove us all wrong. After poor performances in the first 3 games, Curry lit up the Q by scoring 38 points, with 7 threes, along with 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals carrying the Warriors to a game 5 victory.

Curry was not alone though, Klay Thomson added 25 points, and Harrison Barnes scored 14. Combined, the three were responsible for 15 of the Warriors 17 NBA finals record setting threes. Draymond brought it on the defensive side finishing with 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Green also had 12 rebounds. The 2015 NBA finals MVP Andre Iguodala had 10 points, 7 dimes, and 6 boards off the bench, and continued to play excellent defense throughout the game.

Now not to take anything away from the Warriors, but once again the Cleveland supporting cast was pathetic. Other than Kyrie Irving, LeBron was alone. He and Irving combined for 33 of the teams 38 shots, and 36 of their 42 points in the second half. James does deserve some of the blame though. He was passive at times, and recorded 7 of the Cavs 11 turnovers. He also took 5 threes, which is just not something he should be doing.

That being said, the Warriors are now just one win away from their second straight NBA title. Going into game 5, they will hope to close out the series in an arena they’ve lost in only 3 times this year, the Oracle. To add insult to injury, even if the Cavs do pull off a win, teams that have gone down 3-1 in the finals have never been able to come back and win it, so there is little to hold on to for Cleveland fans.
