18 Aug. 2016 – The Rio 2016 basketball semi finals will feature a rematch of the 2008 final between Spain & USA, while Serbia and Australia are also ready to battle for the gold.
Spain came off a big win against France in the quarter finals with a score of 92-67 while USA saw Argentina off 105-78. On the other hand, Serbia defeated Croatia 86-83 in a much heated game as the rivalry between both teams ignited again. Finally, Australia rounded up the final 4 with another strong performance as they beat Lithuania 90-64.
Everyone in the competition thought that it was going to be an easy road for the States, but they had lot of problems and barely won against France, Serbia and Australia, which promises more close encounters in these final stages!
