08 Sep. 2016 – The Asian Cadet Judo Championship is taking place in India and 3 Lebanese judokas are participating in this major tournament.
Joe El Haddad, born on the 13th of October 2001, is the Lebanese judo champion in the -60 kg category with the cadets as well as the Lebanese champion for the same category with the seniors. He won the first fight against Korea and then lost against the Uzbek fighter at the last minute by Yuko (1pt).
We should note that the Uzbek is ranked 42 in the World. Joe will have a repechage game where he has a chance to move to the 5th or 3rd place. He is currently 7th after this fight.
Ghady Moussa, born on the 25th of November 2001, is the Lebanese judo champion in the -55 kg category with the cadets as well as the runner up in the same category with the seniors (+21). He lost his first fight against Hong Kong.
Andreas Mechleb, born on the 14th of April 2000, is the Lebanese judo champion for -73 kg category with the cadets and he got the 3rd place with the seniors (+21). He will play his first game tomorrow.
It is worth mentioning that Joe El Haddad competed in the -55 kg category while Ghady Moussa played in the -60 kg.
