Despite the lack of support for this incredible athlete, he’s always raising the flag of his country high everywhere he goes. Paralympic Sports in Lebanon are not very well known for the public. Edward and other athletes in different Paralympic events are challenging able athletes here in Lebanon but they are kept in the dark.
Unfortunately, nthe Paralympic Games are happening in Rio De Janeiro, but no athletes are representing our country there. Even if no one could make it to the qualifications, we could have at least applied for a wild card invitation.
Edward Maalouf is the only Lebanese athlete to ever win a Paralympic medal. His two Bronze medals from Beijing are the latest Lebanese achievements in both Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Thank you Edward for raising our flag high wherever you go!
