20 Sep. 2016 – Al Riyadi Beirut are going to represent at the Asian clubs championship, from October 8th till October 16th. The yellow team fell in a tough group with Rayan from Qatar, Petrochimie from Iran, ONGC from India and PU Park from Taiwan.
Speaking about the difficult group, coach Subotic stated that in such a tournament, you will eventually face tough opponents and therefore you should not worry about them but let them worry about you. He also stressed the fact that when you are in Riyadi, you always except to win and that will be the target in that tournament.
Then, about the preparations, coach PIXI said they were good but not perfect as there are some injured players and others who just recently joined the team. Moreover, he is pleased about the fact that Aminu, the team’s foreign player is physically ready for any challenge and is not out of shape as it was the problem with many foreigners in the past years.
Finally, coach Slobodan promised all Riyadi fans that they will fight until the last breath and give their best to win!
We should also mention the fact that the team might enroll in a training camp prior to the tournament.
