20 Sep. 2016 – Last time we looked at the single best performance in each event in Athletics since 2010. Today, and every week, we will look at the top 10 performances over a single event.
We will start in order by the sprint events, later on the middle distance, Long distance, Hurdles, Jumps and throws.
In the 100 meters, in both categories, two men and two women were dominant over this distance with amazing performances and a great consistency!
In the Men’s, Mohamad Siraj Tamim (Inter-Lebanon), who’s the Lebanese Record Holder ran 8 times under 11.82, while Nour Hadid (Army) ran 5 times under 10.82, four of them in 2016. Only the hurdler Ahmad Hazer (Champions) was able to make it through the best 10 performances with 10.82 back in 2011.

In the Women’s Gretta Taslakian (Inter-Lebanon) who’s the Lebanese Record Holder with 11.84, ran 11 times under 11.97 seconds! Her best performances were achieved when she broke the Lebanese record in 2010 and also in 2011. Aziza Sbiety (CSJ) ran three times under 11.96 seconds.

Both tables show that our best sprinters has been very consistence on this distance, but we can also notice the lack of adversity on two levels; first, we only have two dominant sprinters in each category, second when Mohamad Tamim and Gretta Taslakian were competing at their best was between 2010 and 2012, while Nour Hadid and Aziza Sbeity started running great times since 2015.
We are looking forward for the upcoming season to see who will be able to sign his or her name in this historical list!
