Best 10 Lebanese Athletics Performances in Discus Throw Since 2010

08 Oct. 2016 – Let’s focus on the discus throw today. An event that has forever been dominated by the Lebanese Army men. But the good thing is that it is one of the throwing events that is becoming very challenging with three young talents who showed up to the scene.

Badri Obeid and Georges Hachem or the only two athletes since 2010 to throw beyond 45 meters. We hope that Jean Claude Abou Faycal will soon start competing with them!

In the women’s, a young 15 years old, who has been training for only 1 year now, is leading the best 10 performances in discus throw with 29.02m! Mira Ibrahim is a young rising talent that we should watch in the upcoming bar. A 15-years-old came to raise the bar high for the throwers! She has the second best performance since 2010 with 28.79!

Lately, with the great challenge between Nathaly Bejjani from CSJ and Nathaly Mouawad from Champville, helped improve the level in this particular event. These three young athletes are the future of throwing in Lebanon.

Discus Throw was never the event of Leila Karhani, the Shot put national record holder, and Janet Said, the Javelin throw national record holder, but they used to compete in two events during the major championships, therefore, they figured among the best performers.
