The project “Run DiaLeb-LMT” consisted of a 452km trail run in the Lebanese mountains, from North to South, starting in Andket and ending in Marjaayoun. Avedis was able to complete the distance in a rainy weather in 9 days.
A ceremony was organized by the DiaLeb in Marjaayoun where a standing ovation from the attendance at Jdeidet Marjaayoun Municipality welcomed Avedis.
120 people attended a lecture given by Dr. Jackie Maalouf, Endocrinologist Dr. Ziad Awad and Ophthalmologist Dr. Youssef Deaibes to raise awareness about diabetes. A glucose testing was performed and glucose meters were delivered to patients courtesy of One Touch. Several attendees also benefited from HBA1C testing.
Avedis Kalpaklian pushed his limits for this great cause, overcoming weather difficulties, altitude and an extreme trail of 452km! He ran through 78 villages, and completed 26 stages in 9 days.
