03 Nov. 2016 – Ray Bassil’s 2016 season ended with a Bronze medal at the Asian Shotgun Championship, held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Ray shared the second place in the qualification round with Sara Al Hawal who competed under the ISP. Both shooters scored 70/75 clay pigeons while Seema Tomar, who represented India, was way in front with only one miss over 75 hits!
Bassil later on qualified for the bronze medal match and was able to add a new medal to her collection.
Ray Bassil had an amazing season so far, winning one ISSF World Cup, finishing second in two World Cups, qualifying for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and finishing fourth in her fourth and last world cup this year. This bronze medal was well deserved.
Now, her main focus are the additional four years of preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
