17 Sep. 2015 – ISKF Lebanon Association, that belongs to the International Federation of Karate Shotokan, is participating in the Self Defense Martial Arts festival on 25 and 26 September that will be held on Beirut coast side.
This festival is the first of this kind in Lebanon and more than 80 sportsmen participated in it, representing a variety of ways of self defense in the five continents. ISKF Lebanon will do a show that involves 60 Karate players, kids and adults, under the slogan of a “Message of Peace”.
This event was being held from Paris to Beirut for 20 years now, and it is involving different kinds of martial arts: Karate, Judo and Ikido from Japan, Kung Fu from China, Taekwondo from Korea. It pushes us to think what martial art is better and further more, what would happen if one kind is facing another one!
The idea of this confrontation has been replaced, in the heart of the contemporary art of karate founded by the teacher Gichin FUNAKOSHI, by the idea of the interaction between the martial arts schools, away from every form of violence.
In the same subject, following-up the history of martial arts, where peace and learning to fight with mutual respect, dominated in all forms of hostilities. The ISKF Lebanon Association decided that to reflect a “Message of Peace“not only to the martial arts schools but also to the region where conflicts between religions, civilizations and people are dominant, and try to turn the conflicts into interactions in order to work together in pursuit of a better world.
