Lebanon to Take Part in Dubai Rugby Sevens Tournament

24 Nov. 2016 – The Lebanese rugby federation will be sending Men’s and Women’s Beirut Select team to take part in the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens Gulf Open Championship on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of December 2016.

The Lebanese team consists of national team players as well as local players. They will all have the opportunity to play in an international tournament that groups 20 teams from different corners of the world.

Rugby sevens has been an Olympic sport since Rio 2016. The tournament consists of over 220 teams participating, including local teams, veterans, women, juniors, and a Gulf U18 girls competition.

The Lebanese men’s team: Karim Jammal, Joseph Touma, Tariq Al Khaldi, Anthony Manassa, Martin Wahbe, Bahige Saridarm, Fadi Barakat, Frederick Makhlouf, Francois Fournier, Omar Hamoui, Had Hachem, Hassan Karaki and Mounir Finan.

The women’s team: Aya Afyouni, Zina Ibrahim, Kaye Bardawil, Manuela Sadek, Nour Shehimi, Maya Mourad, Loubna Sasso, Rania Abdallah, Maya Jannoun, Rim Sinjaba, Carla Badawi, Reem Bahsoun and Sara Jaroush.
