01 Dec. 2016 – The president of the Lebanese Athletics Federation, Roland Saade, is going to take part in the IAAF congress which will mark the first time that the IAAF’s member federations will gather in Monaco on the 2nd and 3rd of December.
Lord Sebastian Coe, the president of the IAAF, will lead the assembly where they will study some rules that are subject to change in athletics. On the other hand, Roland Saade will also attend the IAAF Athletics Awards 2016, the annual celebration honouring the world’s best athletes who helped contribute to another unforgettable year for the sport.
Some of the athletes expected to win the award include Olympic champions and world record breakers Almaz Ayana (ETH), Usain Bolt (JAM), Kendra Harrison (USA), Ruth Jebet (BRN), Shaunae Miller (BAH), Thomas Rohler (GER) and Wayde van Niekerk (RSA), to name but a few.
On the side of IAAF Congress and Athletics Awards, the Lebanese president will meet with Sebastian Coe and other Arab leaders in order to establish future collaborations.
Few days before, Lord Coe sent a written letter signed by him to the Lebanese Athletics Federation thanking them for organizing a lunch especially for him. He congratulated Saade again in his letter for his re-elections as a president of the Lebanese Athletics Federation.
