06 Dec. 2016 – Samantha and Christopher Saikalis are two young Lebanese athletes living and training in the United States. They both competed this season at the Lebanese Open Club Championship with Champville Club.
Samantha specialises in the high jump and javelin throw. In her first indoor participation this month at the GVSU Holiday Open, she jumped 1.60m high which is recognized to be an Indoor national record.
Her brother, Christopher, is an 18m shot put thrower, he holds the outdoor national record. He also competed in his first indoor this season and put the shot at 17.18m which is also considered as a new national mark. Christopher wasn’t satisfied with his performance but it is still the best a Lebanese has ever achieved.
The indoor season is officially on! We have a large number of athletes willing to compete abroad in indoor meets. So stay tuned for more results by our Lebanese athletes.
