Lebanese Triathletes Results at IRONMAN 70.3 Bahrain!

10 Dec. 2016 – The IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship took place today in Bahrain, with a host of Lebanese triathletes there representing our country.

First, it was Ali Tabbal who managed to get the best result by finishing 4th in the 45-49 year old men division and 61st overall with a time of 4 hours 30 minutes and 44 seconds. It is worth noting that he came out of the swim in the top 50 overall with a split time of 27 minutes and 59 seconds. He then finished the bike course in 2 hours 21 minutes and 14 seconds while it took him 1 hour 34 minutes and 41 seconds to be done with the run. His T1 & T2 times were respectively 4 minutes 45 seconds and 2 minutes 5 seconds.

Secondly, there was Hassan Itani competing in the same category as Ali. He finished 22nd in the division and 173rd overall with an overall time of 5 hours 7 minutes and 35 seconds. His split times were as follows: 33 minutes and 32 seconds for the swim, 2 hours 31 minutes and 50 seconds for the bike and finally 1 hour 54 minutes and 35 seconds for the run. His T1 & T2 times were respectively 5 minutes 55 seconds and 2 minutes 11 seconds.

Then, it was Ramy Nachar, the Lebanese & Red Bull triathlete’s turn to cross the line. He did so in 5 hours 14 minutes and 1 second, finishing 11th in the men 25-59 division and 204th overall. Nachar finished the swim in 37 minutes 14 seconds, the bike course in 2 hours 40 minutes and 7 seconds and finally he ran the 21.1 kilometers in 1 hour 50 minutes and 13 seconds. This time is much better than his times at IRONMAN 70.3 Budapest & Turkey, which means Ramy is only improving and will get even better times in the future. His T1 time was 4 minutes and 27 seconds while his T2 time was 2 minutes.

Finally, Amer Chebaro crossed the finish line in 6:45:24, after 57 minutes and 19 seconds for the swim, 3 hours 1 minute and 49 seconds of Bike, and a run that lasted two hours 29 minutes and 38 seconds. In addition, his transition times were 10:12 from Swim-to-bike and 6:26 from Bike-to-run.  He competed in the M35-39 category and was ranked 91 in his division, 444 in the gender category and 589 overall.
