Lebanese Results at the 13th FINA World Swimming Championship (25m) 2016

12 Dec. 2016 – Four Lebanese Swimmers represented our country at the 13th FINA World Swimming Championship (25m) 2016. Gabriella Doueihi, Jennifer Rizkallah, Anthony John Barbar and Adam Allouch. The championship was held in Canada from the 6th of December till the 11th.

Our athletes performed really well during this major championship. Gabriella Doueihi was able to set three new Lebanese records. She swam the Women’s 200m Freestyle in 2:06.90 which gives her 665 FINA points and place her in the 52nd place over 84. In the women’s 800m freestyle, Doueihi clocked an amazing 9:03.93 (684 FINA pts).

In the Women’s 100m Freestyle, Gabriella finished 83rd in 59.24 (638 FINA pts), and Jennifer Rizkallah finished 92nd over 127 with 59.73 (622 FINA pts). Jennifer also competed in the Women’s 50m Backstroke and clocked 30.60 (590 FINA pts). In the 50m Freestyle, she clocked 27.60 which is equal to 597 FINA points.

Anthony Barbar clocked 23.19 (666 FINA pts) to finish the 50m freestyle in 60th place over 137. He also competed in the men’s 50m Butterfly and clocked an amazing 24.33 seconds (719 FINA pts) which placed him in 42nd over 110 participants. In the 100m freestyle, Barbar clocked 52.23 (636 FINA pts).

Unfortunately, Adam Allouch was disqualified in the Men’s 100m Butterfly, but he was able to pick up and swim the Men’s 100m Individual Medley in 59.49 (617 FINA pts). He competed in the 50m Butterfly with Anthony and set 25.21 seconds (646 FINA pts) in this distance.

We are proud to say that our swimmers delivered their best and achieved great results in the 25m pool! At the end of this month, the Lebanese Championship in the 25m pool will be held in AUB. Stay tuned for further results!
