27 Dec. 2016 – Round 14 of the Lebanese Futsal League saw a great deal of surprises, especially with Ashrafieh Youth Club ending Bank of Beirut’s streak.
In fact, in a game that opposed these teams, Bank of Beirut drew for the first time since the start of the league. The game ended 4-4 with BoB dropping two precious points after their undefeated streak for 12 games. Ashrafieh were the favorites to grab the win in that game since they imposed their pace on the current leader. But despite the great performance of their players, they fell short of the victory.
In another game, the Army went face to face against Sayda Freedom defeating them 7-4 and thus keeping their 2nd place in the league table. Besides, South Sporting overcame their opponents Tripoli Fayhaa 3-1. This comes as a revenge after the Southern team’s loss to Tripoli in the 1st leg.
Finally, Club 1875 stole a precious point from their opponents Choueifat, with a 2-2 draw.
Following these results, Bank of Beirut remain on top of the table with 37 points. Right behind them comes the Army with 25 points and not very far in 3rd Ashrafieh Youth Club with 22 points.
