28 Dec.2016- Homenetmen host Byblos in Mezher eyeing to stay undefeated and preserve first spot.
Homenetmen have been flying high but face a strong opponent tomorrow as a loss for any side would put the other team on top of the league.
The orange team’s strongest point is running the floor and pushing on the fastbreak. Leading the break is Kevin Galloway, a practical walking triple-double. This guy has leverage on any guard that guards him with height and physical power on his side. Jay Youngblood might be the guy to guard him as he is fast and strong enough to hold Kevin as much as possible.

On the wings, a duo of Nadim Souaid/Fadi El Khatib will be hard to stop. Nadim might be guarded by Rodrigue Akl and vice versa. Nadim has evolved his game greatly this season. Very effective on the offensive end, with 13 three pointers and a high percentage, he might be the key in today’s game. Guarding Fadi is a mystery most players can’t solve. Tarek Ammoury might be the guy appointed to stop the Tiger. He might be in a disadvantage as Fadi is taller and more physical so double teams and traps on the sideline might be in order.
Offensively, Byblos are counting a lot on Clay Tucker to score valuable points. A great shooter and a decent slasher, Tucker is demanded to put on a show if his team has any chance of winning. Dewayne Jackson might be taking him one on one. Jackson is as fast, as athletic and taller, and might be the guy to shut him down. On the other hand, Byblos have no clear player to guard Jackson. Ali Kanaan is too slow to guard him, so is Abi Kheres. While Homenetmen have all these advantages on matchups, coach Vusanic might be playing zone 3-2. Limiting spaces and 3 three point opportunities even while guarding Majok down low with the presence of Ebi/Kanaan/Souaid.
Homenetmen might have a slight advantage as their bench is more influential. Having Hayk, Sevag, Mechref and Chamoun all capable of coming into the game and turn things around. With a great home crowd backing them up, Homenetmen are one step in front.
