11 Jan. 2017 – Yusif Bassil is the only Lebanese driver to race in Hankook Dubai 24 Hour. The race comes as the season opener of the 24H Series powered by Hankook. It is both a sports and touring car automobile endurance race held annually at the Dubai Autodrome.
The provisional entry list for the Hankook 24H DUBAI includes no less than 99 cars. The A6 class is the biggest one with 25 entries, including reigning 24H SERIES team champions, Hofor Racing, taking on its first race with the new Mercedes-AMG GT3. Further AMG GT3s are expected from Black Falcon, including local hero Khaled Al Qubaisi and Dutchman Jeroen Bleekemolen, SPS automotive performance, IDEC Sport Racing and HTP Motorsport, with five times’ DTM champion Bernd Schneider among the drivers. Gravity Racing International will be running its proven Mercedes SLS AMG GT3.
Yussif Bassil joined a team formed by Thierry Boyer from France, Gonzalo Martin de Andres from Spain and Loïc Dupont from France. Team Altran Peugeot will race on the Peugeot 208 GTi (1600cc).
This is not the first time Yussif Bassil takes part in the Dubai 24H. The experienced driver also used to be the co pilot of Lebanon’s legendary rally driver Jean Pierre Nasrallah.
The race starts tomorrow and will end on the 14th of January 2017. We wish Yussif and the rest of the participants the best of this 24h race!
