13 Jan. 2017 – Here are your best 5 Lebanese players of the last round.

At point guard, it’s Costy Koudsy making his way into the lineup for the first time this season. He was phenomenal in Mayrouba’s away win against Tadamon, scoring 16 points with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. An honorable mention in this round should also go to Ralf Akl who scored 14 points with 7 assists.

While many consider him a shoot first point guard or more of a shooting guard, there is no doubt Wael Arakji gets the job done and is one of the best players in the league. His 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists outing against Homenetmen earned him the guard place in the lineup.

Finally we saw glimpses of the Bassel Bawji we know. In the 2nd half against Hoops, Bawji stepped up to finish with 14 points and 8 rebounds, giving his team a much needed win. The performance cemented his place at the first forward in our lineup.

Two players in our league prove that age is just a number. Fadi El Khatib and Ismael Ahmad. In the last round, it was Ismael’s turn to enter the line up with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists against Homenetmen, inflicting on them their first defeat this season. That’s why he’s our pick for the second forward position.

Finally, despite not being a pure big guy, Ali Haidar got the job done against Homenetmen on both ends to get the center position in our lineup. He scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while his block shot on Fadi El Khatib at halftime gave his team a lot of momentum!
