19 Jan. 2017 – Thea Abou Diwan, the young figure skating champion who previously excelled on the international scene, just took part in the Skate Helena 2017 International Figure Skating Tournament competing in the CUBS II Girls category where she was ranked 15 among 39 participants, which considered as an achievement in such high level tournament.
This young girl is excelling in a sport that doesn’t exist in Lebanon, and the government is not willing to make any step to at least help her compete under her country’s name in the world’s top level competitions.
The young figure skater scored a total of 24.00 points to take 15th place in a very high-level competition. Hana Cermakova from Slovakia came in first place with 37.61 pts, Viktoriia Goritskaia came in second with 34.29 points and Tonka Zitkovic from Croatia came in third with 34.18 pts.
This girl has all it takes to become a great champion, what she needs is just to proudly represent her country of origin and raise our flag high.
