26 Jan. 2017 – The Lebanese Shooting delegation headed by the president of the Lebanese Federation, Pierre Jalekh, is off to Kuwait to take part in the Arab Championship.

Ray Bassil, Alain Moussa, Hicham Jaber, Jad Hamada, Walid Najjar and Elie Bejjani are taking part in the Individual Trap Shooting. Wissal Khalil and Elie Kehdi will participate in the Double Trap competition. Moreover, Samer Sarkis will be the only participant in Skeet.

What’s the different between the three shooting events?

Olympic trap is one of the ISSF shooting events, introduced to the Olympic program in 1900; the current version was introduced in 1950 while the double trap was introduced in 1996. Skeet has been part of the Olympic Games in 1968.

In trap, a single clay pigeon is launched from a single machine while in double trap, two targets are launched from the same machine. In Skeet, two targets are launched from two different machines.

On the other hand, Pierre Jalekh announced that one of the main targets of the executive board is to support the team in international competition in all the categories: Seniors and Youth, Men and Women. He also expects great results from the team in the Arab Championship.

The president of the federation will also attend several meetings on the side of the competition with the Arab Shooting Federation and the Asian Federation as a member of the federation.

We wish them all the best!
