U20 Lebanese Futsal Team to Face Iraq Again in a Friendly Game

26 Jan. 2017 – In preparation for the U20 Asian Futsal Championship that will be hel in Thailand in March, our national team will face Iraq in another friendly game scheduled this Friday at 8:00 PM in Al Arz Club in Mina, Northern Lebanon.

The first game against Iraq that took place in Sedd, Beirut, ended in 3-0 for the host team. Therefore, the coaches were analyzing the game video in order to make some changes for the upcoming game.

On the other hand, it was obvious that the Iraqi team has more experience that our national team knowing that they used to train together as a team for more than 3 years with Coach Ali Taleb. We should also note that the Iraqi team was doing local and international training camps before facing Lebanon in Beirut. They will also have a training camp in Thailand before the Asian Championship.

Hussein Dib, the technical director of the team said that the first game was a trial for the players to gain more experience playing against other teams and apply the plans of the coaches. He also added that the game was a good experience despite their loss.

the Serbian Coach Boris Sizmar confirmed that the focus of the friendly games is for the players to get used to the competition knowing that the selected team have played the division one championship with their clubs but that they have more young talented players who will soon be ready to be on the team.

Moreover, Coach Boris announced that no miracles can be done in only 10 sessions of training. He also added that the team could avoid the three goals but that he is happy with his defense. He finally said that the players will be more focused on the national team training once they are free from their clubs.
