29 Jan. 2017 – The Lebanese Basketball National Team started the 2017 WABA Championship in style, with an important win against the Iraqi side.
Iraq was expected to be a good team, especially with the fact that they have Kevin Galloway on their side. Nevertheless, the Cedars proved to be too much and were able to head into halftime with a 19-point lead.
Fadi El Khatib as usually showed the West Asian teams what kind of player he is and why he’s one of the best Asian players to ever play the game. while Wael Arakji once again cemented his status as one of the best point guards, if not the best in the West Asian region.
Fadi El Khatib is the best scorer from Lebanon with 15 points, Majok and Tabet best rebounders with 9 rebounds each.
