30 Jan. 2017 – Rabih Jammal, not just any name, and not just any person. Rabih is a blind man who made a huge achievement by crossing the distance of “Darb El Sama” in the event Sportscode 500.
Just a few months back, Rabih was a man like any other. He used to smoke and sports weren’t in any of his upcoming plans. However, 4 months ago, Rabih made the decision of turning his life around. He quit smoking and began training. He chose to prove that his disability couldn’t stop him from following his dreams. He chose to prove that where there’s a will, there’s a way and he definitely found it! He found a way to run the bumpy track of “Darb El Sama” and not only did he run, he also crossed the finish line.
Rabih had support from 2 helpers: One of them holds a rope, that Rabih holds too, and the other one holds his hand while trail running. It is worth mentioning that the track included a lot of stairs, rocks as well as many ups and downs.
Rabih took it as a challenge and wanted to prove to himself and to everyone else that no obstacle is big enough, here’s what he said after the race:
