30 Jan. 2017 – Lebanon’s very own Ziad Choueiry has been elected as the new president of the Mediterranean Fencing Confederation in the elections that took place in France.
16 countries had the right to vote out of 20, and the majority of the voting went to the president Choueiry instead of his Italian opponent.
The world’s leading countries in Fencing are members of this federation, such as Spain, France, Italy…
Moreover, the newly elected president has confirmed that Jbeil will host a Fencing tournament in January 2018 as the situation in Lebanon is calm which gave other countries confidence in our nation.
Congratulations with big hopes that this will only make fencing better in Lebanon and give more opportunities to our Lebanese athletes.
