08 Feb. 2017 – The young Lebanese tennis champion Maria Breidy, concluded her first week at the ITF Asia 14 & Under Development Championship 2017, Division 1.
This competition is one of the toughest Maria can participate in, and her results were extremely good. She finished 14th, but her loss came against Alexandra Pala who is seeded number 3!
In her consolation games, Breidy defeated Anna Suiaymanova from Kyrgyzstan, 2-6 6-2 and then 10-5 in the tie breaker. Then, she also beat Randa AlQudsi from Jordan 6-2 6-1, before losing against Prerana Koirala from Nepal (2-6 6-3, Tie breaker 4-10) and J WIrahadipoemomo from Indonesia 6-1 6-1.
On the other hand, in the doubles category, she reached the quarter finals with her partner Makhira Alimova (Uzbekistan) but lost against the Uzbekistan duo Tursanova-Folts 7-6 1-6 and in the tie breaker 6-10.
