27 Feb. 2017 – After suffering a heart-wrenching loss against Achrafieh Youth Club, players and coaches of Tripoli gave their feedback on the game.

First of all, we spoke to Coach Farid Njeim. He said: “Luck was simply not on our side. We poured our hearts out but lacked the final touch. We missed a lot of chances and AYC made the best out of this. Defensively they were extremely good and made it really hard on us. Besides, we made two or three mistakes that cost us the game. In addition to the mistakes, the slippery court played in favor on AYC. This type of fields favors a slower pace and creates a disadvantage to an offensive and faster team like ours. I’m not blaming it all on the mistakes and the field, a huge part of our defeat was due to bad luck. Even with these mistakes, if luck was on our side, we could’ve grabbed the win. In addition, the suspicious suspension of our captain and national team player Kasem Kawsan was the biggest reason behind our loss. In my opinion, this whole game was similar to a set up. Even the pre-game report resulted in a lot of tension ans pressure. It affected us and our performance but despite that, we were still better. I just want to say that I am extremely proud of each and every player of the team. I would also like to express my gratitude towards the administration of Tripoli Fayhaa and of course towards the two foreigners. The Colombian duo was definitely an added value to our team. Finally, I want to apologize first, to the supporters of the team, and second, to the players and administration because I was not able to win that game.”

Angellot Caro was the next one in his team to talk. He first thanked the club for the opportunity to be here and to be able to play in the Lebanese Futsal League. He added: “It was a very difficult and tough series but I am very happy to play here, with this team. Achrafieh were extremely good and organized and now our journey is over. They were the better team and they deserved the win. Congratulations to AYC.” Angellot had previously played for Mayadeen and now Tripoli, however, he does not know if he will be coming back to Lebanon to play in the league.

Finally, the team captain gave his feedback saying: “We were really unlucky. AYC had studied well how Angellot and Camilio play but even the Lebanese players were unable to find solutions. The ball did not want to cross the line and many shots hit the bar on several occasions. I want to apologize to our fans because we let them down. They came all the way to the stadium to support us and we disappointed them. We promised them the win but we couldn’t deliver. Hopefully next year, we will be better and will make up for it.”
