21 Apr. 2017 – Saida International Marathon is only 2 days away, as it is set to take place on Sunday, April 23rd. More than 15 000 runners will participate in this first edition, taking place in the capital of the South.
Here is everything you need to know about the marathon:
- There will be two grouping points, one for the 1km, 3km and 7km runs and another for the 21.1 special needs half marathon and 42.195 marathon
- There is only one start point, located at the West entrance of the Rafic El Hariri Boulevard
- The finish line for the 21.1km and 42.195km is going to be inside Rafic El Hariri city while for the other races, it will be next to it on the East road
- The switch point for the relay race will be at 21.1 kilometers and there are going to be fruits/water stations at 5km, 15km, 20km, 30km and 35km
- The parking spots for the race are: Rafic El Hariri secondary school parking, Zidan parking, the parking parallel to Rammal Commercial Group on the East road, La Salle parking and AUST’s parking
- Roads close to the start and finish point of the marathon will be closed from Saturday at 6:00 A.M and until Sunday at 7:00 P.M while the race roads will be closed from 5:00 A.M on Sunday and until 3:00 P.M

- 6:45 A.M: Line up for the 21.1 kilometers special needs race
- 6:50 A.M: Start of the 21.1 kilometers race
- 6:55 A.M: Line up for the 42.195 kilometers race
- 7:00 A.M: Start of the 42.195 kilometers race
- 7:50 A.M: Line up of the kids with their parents for the 1 kilometer race
- 8:00 A.M: Start of the 1 kilometer race
- 8:20 A.M: Line up for the competitive 3 kilometers race
- 8:30 A.M: Start of the 3 kilometers race
- 8:40 A.M: Line up for the competitive 7 kilometers race and for the 7 kilometers fun run
- 8:50 A.M: Start of the 7 kilometers competitive race
- 9:00 A.M: Start of the 7 kilometers fun run
- 11:00 A.M: Awards ceremony for the winners of the open categories in the full and half marathon
- 7:00 P.M: Awards ceremony for group ages in the marathon and half marathon at Saida Rest House
