13 Nov. 2015 – Every year since 2003, one race has been grouping all Lebanese from different religion, politics view, region, age and gender, the Beirut Marathon. The event has been not only successful but also powerful when it comes to marketing and advertising.
We started by earning the Bronze Label and then worked harder for the Silver Label. The Gold one needs as much effort as we did before. The main focus will be on the 42k marathon race, the Beirut 542 program has been implemented to bring more people to run the 42k, which is essential and very important not only to get people to run but also to earn this gold label!

What made this 13th edition of the marathon a successful one despite the lack of organization especially on the court where everyone and anyone could just walk on the court and block the elite runners who came to perform! This also appeared on the finish line of the 10k “serious” run.
This marathon was a success due to some amazing performances achieved by international and Lebanese athletes who came here to compete and break their records! Two Beirut Marathon records were set, but we should also mention that court changed this year, so we can’t officially say that records were broken because this court was totally new.
Chirine NJEIM ran her second best marathon in 3 weeks; she broke the Lebanese record 3 weeks ago in Chicago marathon clocking 2:46:41. She was the first Lebanese Woman to ever go under 3 hours. During the 2015 BDL Beirut Marathon, she clocked an amazing 2:49:23 crossing the half marathon in 1:19! To get you a clearer idea about the performance, the half marathon record was broken by Pia NEHME two weeks ago with 1:18!
The first International athlete to cross the finish line is Jackson LIMO from Kenya who broke the previous marathon record by clocking 2:11:04! A world-class performance which will encourage other Elite runners to come run the Beirut Marathon. It is known that our marathon is difficult, but some athletes come to run it as preparation for other marathons.
38,000 people registered for the 13th edition of the marathon which is better from last year! The number of participants is rising every year which is a very positive thing for our Lebanese community!
Finally, what makes the Beirut Marathon special is the festive atmosphere before, during and after the race.
