01 Dec. 2015 – A crazy game between Sagesse and Tadamon took place in the first round of the Henry Chalhoub Tournament, with both teams battling for a place in the semi finals.
Tadamon started the game strongly making an 8-0 run and taking an early lead, but a come back by Sagesse brought back the excitement and from that moment on, it was anyone’s game.
In the final 2 minutes of the game, Tadamon’s Serbian playmaker Branco scored a crucial foul in from beyond the arc to bring the deficit down to 3 points before Vladan scored and made it 1 point. Then, Desmond Penigar, Sagesse’s former player scored a basket 9 seconds from the final whistle to give Tadamon a 1 point lead. But, Elie Rustom had a different opinion and drove to the basket to score a buzzer beater that gifted his team, Sagesse, the win and thus qualification to the semis!
Now, Sagesse will face Byblos in the semi finals of Henry Chalhoub tournament while Tadamon will play against Homenetmen. Also, today’s result has knocked Hoops out of the competition.
