10 Dec. 2015 – The semi final games of the Lebanese basketball cup took place today in Al Chiyah basketball stadium, with Sagesse, Mouttahed, Byblos and Champville battling out for a place in the final!
In the first game, Sagesse defeated Mouttahed 89-84, despite a huge come back from the Northern team! Dion Dixon was the green team’s best player scoring 33 points, while his teammate Michael Efevberha added 19 points and Elie Rustom 14 points! From the losing side, Reyshawn Terry exploded in his first game with his new team, scoring 35 points and grabbing 12 boards while Michael Taylor scored 21. But it wasn’t enough for Mouttahed as they lost the game in the end.
On the other hand, following that game, it was time for the second confrontation in the semi finals, between Champville and Byblos. Surprisingly, it was a clearly one side game, as Byblos established an early dominance and created a large gap despite missing their star player Steve Burtt! The game finally ended 88-60 in favor of Byblos, who were only playing with 2 foreign players, Jay Youngblood and Sherwood Brown.
Now, Byblos and Sagesse are going to face each other in the cup final just like they did a week ago in the Henri Chalhoub Tournament Final! The winner of the cup will then move on to play the super cup against the Lebanese champions, Al Riyadi!
