12 Dec. 2015 – The final game of the Lebanese basketball cup was taking place in Al Chiyah stadium, and Byblos managed to defeat Sagesse to win their first ever trophy while in the first division!
The game’s final score was 86-71, with Byblos making a run at the beginning of the fourth quarter to seal the win. Steve Burtt was no doubt the game’s best player, scoring 29 points and leading his team to a second title this season following the Henri Chalhoub cup!
On the other hand, Sagesse had a bad shooting night, especially Michael Efevberha who scored only 2 times from beyond the arc despite numerous attempts! Moreover, the green club did not take advantage of Jay Youngblood’s injury that made him miss the second half of the game.
Now, Byblos will face Riyadi next week in the Lebanese super cup in one of the most awaited games this year! Riyadi will be playing with their new foreigner Arnett Moultrie, in addition to Aron Harper and Jeremiah Massey, while Byblos will rely on the usual trio Burtt, Youngblood and Brown! An exciting game no doubt await the fans, especially that it is going to take place in Tadamon’s new stadium, the biggest in Lebanon!
