30 Dec. 2015 – The Lebanese futsal league regular season has come to an en after 18 rounds! Al Mayadeen ended up first and will benefit from home court advantage at all times during the rest of the season, while the Lebanese army made a push in the final rounds to snatch second place from Bank of Beirut who finished third!
In the 18th and final round of the season, the regular season winners continued their winning streaking by defeating Choueifat 8-0. The goals in that game were scored by Ramzi Abi Haidar (2), Hassan Zeitoun (1), Kassem Kansan (1), Karim Abou Zeid, Mohamed Boussi, Boba Ratchevic and Mustafa Rhayem.
AUCE meanwhile have been relegated despite defeating Tripoli 3-2, as Kalamoun held the army to 1-1 draw. Indeed, Kalamoun’s draw has brought both teams to the same number of points, but goals difference was not in favor of AUCE.
Now, Kalamoun will play a qualifying game against the second division runner ups in order to see who will compete in the first division next year.
On the other hand, Bank of Beirut easily defeated AUST 8-1 to end a run of 3 games without a win!
Finally, the last game in that round and in the regular season was between USJ and Achrafieh, with the University of Saint Joseph grabbing a revenge 6-2 win! Previously in the first leg, USJ had suffered a defeat at home against Achrafieh but in the 2nd leg it was them who won!
