06 Jan, 2016 – Two teams from Al Riyadi Beirut academy, the under 18 boys team and under 18 girls team, came back from Greece where they were invited by Panathinaikos to participate in a training camp and a tournament!
First, Panathinaikos welcomed the Lebanese teams at the airport and on the 2nd day, they practiced together. Then, on the 27th,28th and 29th of December, the tournament took place.
The boys team was competing alongside 3 other teams, Panathinaikos, Persister and Uball Utrecht. They lost all 3 games and ended up 4th. On the other hand, the girls team was playing against Proteas, Kronos and Panathinaikos. They won a single game against Panathinaikos and finished 4th.
Moreover, on the the night of December 27, Al Riyadi players went to watch a semi final game of the local league, between Aris and Panathinaikos at the Olympic stadium!
Also, in addition to the tournament games, Riyadi boys and girls played 2 friendly games against Panathinaikos and won both of them.
