09 Jan. 2016 – Ramzi NAIM (Champions) came back strongly on the scene of athletics to show everyone how determined he is. He went to Prague where he took part in the Strahov Meeting, ran the 60 meters indoors in 6.95 seconds and equaled the long-standing record of Mohamad Siraj TAMIM.
This young guy has a long and fruitful career behind him, he represented Lebanon in so many international and regional championships! He also holds many Lebanese records in the age group categories as well as the 4x400m relay National record.
The particularity of this young man lies in his determination. He started this season with a solid foot improving his personal best to 7.01 twice at the CSJ meetings that were held in December. He flew to Prague to break the Lebanese indoor record. He came second after the Czech champion who ran the distance in 6.89 second.
Now, he shares the National indoor record of the 60 meters indoor with Mohamad TAMIM, but for how long? Ramzi will race again this Monday and next Saturday to try to break the record!
“I am focusing on the 60m indoor this season and I am preparing to break the 60m record. This year I am more focused on short distances rather than the 400 meters and there is a great probability that I will be running 100 and 200 meters outdoor this season,” Said Ramzi.
Ramzi will be a strong candidate for the Lebanese delegation that will take part in the Asian Indoor Championship that will be held in Doha, Qatar, on February 19th!
