24 Jan. 2016 – Once again, Ahmad Ibrahim delivered a huge performance to lead Homenetmen to a new win in the Lebanese basketball championship. Indeed, the orange team led by Ahmad’s 29 points has defeated Sagesse in Ghazir with a score of 97-94 to go top of the league once again until Riyadi plays its next game.
In today’s game, Homenetmen started strongly and managed to increase their lead to 17 points in the first quarter at some point, but Sagesse turned things around and ended the quarter down by 5 only. Later on in the 2nd quarter, the hosts, despite missing Elie Rustom, managed to cut Homenetmen’s lead and go into halftime break tied 41-41.
The game then was close between both teams, with Sagesse trailing by a few points but Ahmad Ibrahim drained many three points shots that made the difference. In addition to Ibrahim, the foreigners trio and Nadim Souaid also played a good game, with Norvel Pelle excelling on defense.
On the other hand, Rodrigue Akl and Jarrid Famous were no doubt the best players from Sagesse. Indeed, Akl scored 5 three points shots and made a couple of important steals while Famous scored more than 25 points and grabbed more than 20 rebounds!
