09 Feb. 2016 – The Lebanese futsal national team will start his journey at the Asian championship tomorrow, February 10th, hoping to secure a place at the world cup. In order to achieve that, Lebanon will have to finish in the top 5.
First, the Lebanese team will face Kyrgyzstan tomorrow in the opening game, at 1:00 P.M, before going head to head against Saudi Arabia on Friday at 1:30 P.M. The last game in the groups stage will be against the hosts, Uzbekistan and there is no doubt it will be the toughest game.
In the last Asian cup, Uzbekistan were the ones to knock Lebanon out, so our players will be seeking their revenge this time. The main goal is to finish first in the group, in order to get a favorable quarter final draw and avoid Iran. Indeed, the Irani team will most probably finish on top his group and is arguably the toughest opponent in the championship.
But first things first, the Lebanese players have to tackle every game with extreme focus and determination because as coach Araujo said, all other teams have prepared very well since the world cup comes once every 4 years.
We wish our team all the best, and we will be supporting them all the way in order to help them achieve their dream!
Here are the players who are going to represent Lebanon:
Hussein Hamdani (1), Ghady Abi Akl (2), Tarek Tabbouch (12), Karim Abou Zeid (3), Mustafa Rhayem (4), Ahmad Kheir El Dine (5), Ali El Homsi (6), Hassan Zeitoun (7), Kassem Kawsan (8), Mohamad Kobaissy (9), Ali Tneich (10), Kamel Elias (11), Ali Daher (13), Moustafa Serhan (14).
