22 Feb. 2016- After defeating Azad from Iran in the semi final game, Al Riyadi Beirut was not able to overcome the other Iranian team Petrochimi in the final, losing 70-68.
Unfortunately, the West Asian trophy will not be coming to Lebanon, as Riyadi ended up 2nd and Champville 4th.
For most of the game, Riyadi was trailing, with Wael Arakji’s game ending injury affecting the team as his mobility and energy would have definitely helped! Nevertheless, Al Riyadi are going to represent Lebanon at the Asian clubs championship and will have a chance at getting back with the biggest prize!
Hard luck to both Lebanese teams, it is time now to get back to Lebanon and focus on the championship!
