11 June. 2016 – In a country where you have to sacrifice a lot for sports and in return accept that it will be almost impossible to make a living out of it, some athletes are still striving for success despite all limitations and barriers. Indeed, in Lebanon, the training facilities are not available everywhere, training itself here is limited and will not let athletes live up to their full potential and most importantly, planning and support from the people in charge is rarely efficient, sufficient or even present! But despite all that, the passion that emerges from within our national athletes is stronger than these barriers as is the case with a young Lebanese taekwondo champion, Georges Haddad.
We conducted an interview with Georges in order to relate back on his career and future plans and here are the questions that were asked:
01. Georges, when did you start your taekwondo career and what were the highlights and best moments so far?
02. Why did your activity in the past year diminish? Was it a lack of organization from the federation or a personal issue?
03. You mentioned that your plans were to end your career in about a year, what are the reasons behind this decision and is it the average career span for a taekwondo player in Lebanon?
04. Moving on to a bit more entertaining question, what was your favorite experience abroad?
05. Finally Georges, is there anything you would like to add or any appreciation you would like to give? `
Now, here are the answers given by Haddad who made sure not to leave out any details!
