16 Jul. 2016 – Today, Al Mayadeen played their first game at the 2016 AFC Futsal Clubs Championship, facing AlMalyk F.C with hopes of a winning start.
Nevertheless, things didn’t go the way the Lebanese team wanted with the final whistle signaling a 2-2 draw between both teams. Indeed, Al Mayadeen performed very well in their Asian debut against a very good team and it was luck who denied our team a legendary win and start!
Both goals were scored by Khaled Takaji who gave the Lebanese team a 2-1 lead in the first half, but the team from Uzbekistan scored in the 2nd half to grab a draw.
Let’s hope for a Lebanese win in the next game as Mayadeen proved they have what it takes to proceed to future rounds in that competition!
