31 Jul. 2016 – The Lebanese under 18 basketball national team’s participation at the U18 FIBA Asia championship ended on a rather sour note, with 2 heavy defeats against Japan & Korea. Indeed, after beating both of them in the first round, Lebanon lost to the Japanese team in the semis and then against Korea today 63-86 in the battle for third place. [Semi finals recap]
Today’s game was crucial because finishing third meant world cup qualification for our young team, but things obviously didn’t go our way. Nevertheless, 4th place is still a good result as preparations were limited, and most importantly, we got a taste of the future which is rather safe with those youngsters carrying the torch!
Hard luck heroes, you made us proud despite everything!
