11 Aug. 2016- The Jezzine-Jbaa 10 km race in its 4th edition was a true celebration of sportsmanship down in one of the most beautiful sceneries of nature in Lebanon.
The fast course, the Pine and oak trees, the majestic views along the road, as well as hard work and determination were the factors that helped most of the runners achieve their personal best times in the 10,000m race.
Luke Grenfell-Shaw from England easily secured the first place by clocking 31:42 mins, followed by Bilal Awada from the Army (32:24), and Imad Jizzini (The Jbaa native) from the ISF in 3rd place clocking 32:30. Jizzini was capable of achieving a good result by making it to the podium. He was certainly able to make the people of his village extremely proud.

As for the women, Ghina Assir from the Champions club won the race with a remarkable time of 40:42mins, Kathia Rached (Elite club) was capable of achieving a personal best in the 10k run and came in second place with 41:55. Jennifer Tomazou, also from the Champions club, secured the 3rd place with 44:57. Jennifer is, without a doubt, a promising long distance athlete.
For everyone who has missed it, we advise you to mark your calendars for next year and participate in 2017, the race’s 5th edition, because this unique event is surely not to be missed!
